I have two loves: I’m a clinical psychologist and a writer. These passions go hand-in-hand, it seems, with each informing the other. Over the years, I have work in many fields. I’ve picked pumpkins on a tobacco farm, cemented box toes in a shoe factory, and sold my watercolor paintings at sidewalk art shows. One of my favorite jobs–which I enjoyed so much I can hardly label it a job–was writing freelance feature articles for the Intelligencer Journal in Lancaster, PA.
Eventually, my journey took me to Tennessee to earn a doctorate in clinical psychology. Since childhood, I have been fascinated by how the mind works and why we do the things we do. On these pages, I’ll continue to ponder these questions and what in the world we should do with the answers.
My creative writing tends to focus on the psychological issues underlying behaviors. My protagonists are often, but not always, women faced with making hard choices. I have just completed THE HOUSE THAT TILTS. I am now working on a prequel, THE STONING OF EVELYN BLOOM, as well as a collection of short stories.
In addition to this website, I also blog on remarkableclients.com.
